Product Structure

The product structure is used to group all product types. It consists of five levels, with each item assigned to the lowest level subcategory. Across the ecosystem, this structure supports item filtering, pricing bands, reporting, and stock control.

The product structure is created with the following hierarchy: DivisionSub DivisionSuper CategoryCategorySubcategory

Zonal Connect has enhanced the name fields across the platform, Main Names are now longer fields and will be displayed in all areas in Zonal Connect that may use that field, the Aztec Name field is used to update the existing Aztec module with the same character limits
Navigate to Product Admin → Product Structure

Adding New Divisions

Follow these steps to add a new division:

  1. Click Add | select Division

  2. Enter the following details, Main NameAztec Name | Type

  3. Set any additional fields as required, Description | Mandatory Line Check

  4. Click Save

Adding Sub Divisions

Follow these steps to add a new sub division:

  1. Click Add | select Sub Division

  2. Enter the following details, Main NameAztec Name

  3. Select the Division to link the sub division to | click Add

Adding New Super Categories

Follow these steps to add a new super category:

  1. Click Add | select Super Category

  2. Enter the following details, Main NameAztec Name

  3. Select the Division and Sub Division to link the Super Category to | click Add

Adding New Categories

Follow these steps to add a new categories:

  1. Click Add | select Category

  2. Enter the following details, Main NameAztec Name

  3. Select the Division, Sub Division, Super Categoryto link the Category to | click Add

  4. Enter Description (optional)

  5. Click Save

Adding New Subcategories

Follow these steps to add a new subcategories:

  1. Click Add | select Subcategory

  2. Enter the following details, Main NameAztec Name

  3. Select the Division, Sub Division, Super Category, Category to link the Subcategory to | click Add

  4. Set any additional fields as required, Description | Allow Site Pricing | Allow Site Naming | Use for Cover Count | b

  5. Click Save

Remember when creating new subcategories these must be allocated to a price band so that the correct prices are allocated to sites and sales areas, click here to find out more

Editing the Product Structure

Follow these steps to edit a the product structure:

  1. Select the required level of the product structure

  2. Update any fields as required | click Save

Searching the Product Structure

Follow these steps to search for a level of the product structure:

  1. In the tree section click into the search

  2. Enter the search term, press <enter> or click the search icon, the results will be displayed matching the search term including any mid-word matches

  3. To remove the search click the remove search icon

Viewing Activity

Follow these steps to view the activity of a product structure level:

  1. Select the required structure level | select the Activity tab

  2. By default todays activity is initially displayed, adjust the date selection to choose either

    • 1M - last 1 month of changes

    • 3M - last 3 months of changes

    • Custom - date range picker

  3. Activity will be displayed with the following information

    • Date & Time

    • User

    • Action

The details section allows you to set the main configurable information for sub divisions.

Super Category Details

The details section allows you to set the main configurable information for super category.

Category Details

The details section allows you to set the main configurable information for category.

Subcategory Details

The settings section allows you to set the main configurable information for subcategories.
