Selling Products Online

Overview

Products can be set up in the system to be sold to hotel guests as they book rooms online via the Booking Engine. Products can also be restricted to appear only to staff making internal bookings.

These Products will be displayed on the second step of the Booking Engine journey (as shown in the image above).

Configuring a Product to sell Online

Products are created on the overview page and during the set-up form, each product can be set to be available online or not.

Once the setting to sell a product online is set to Yes, the following settings allow the product to be sold exactly how it is required for the hotel:

  • Visible – this will decide whether ‘Yes’ Guests can book the product or ‘No’, it can only be added internally
  • Applies to – this setting allows products to be applied to:
    • Stay – added to every day of the reservation
    • Reservation – added once to a Room Reservation
    • Adult – added to each adult on the Reservation and to each day
    • Child – added to each child on the reservation and to each day
  • Quantity – Either set the maximum quantity that can be added to be based on the occupancy of the reservation (this is helpful for meals) or you can override the quantity to a value of the users choice.
  • Notify when – this setting will decide when a due Product will appear on the Dashboard in the PMS
  • Room selector – Pick any room types to apply to the product
  • Day of the Week Selector – Pick any days of the week when the product can be added

Booking Engine View

1 Room selector allows guests to pick each reservation

2 Description of the selected reservation

3 Available products might change based on the Rooms or dates chosen

4 Descriptions, prices and status. Click the information ‘i’ to expand

5 Currently added products with a remove option only if the product is not part of the Rate Plan
