Airship absorbs two sets of data as part of the Loyalty integration:

Aztec Data

Overnight data feed containing basket data is captured directly from the POS, and each loyalty transaction includes a unique Loyalty Identifier. This identifier links the transaction to the customer’s profile in Airship, allowing all purchase activity to be viewed within a single customer record. By feeding this data into Airship, businesses gain valuable insights into customer spending habits and behaviour, enabling more targeted and effective engagement. Loyalty Data

Loyalty Data Extracts can be automatically fed into Airship on a daily basis, providing up to date information on new member sign-ups and existing member data, including points balances. This data is used by Airship to enrich customer profiles and power personalised communications and dynamic content. Email Campaign Suggestions

With the integration between Airship and Zonal Loyalty in place, hospitality businesses can deliver highly personalised and timely email communications. Below are key campaign recommendations to maximise customer engagement and loyalty program performance:

  • Welcome Journey: Loyalty automatically sends a receipt-style email immediately after sign-up, containing essential details such as the loyalty card number and “Add to Wallet” buttons. As Zonal’s email builder is limited in design capabilities, it’s recommended to follow up with a branded Welcome email from Airship. This allows for richer visuals, dynamic content, and a more engaging introduction to your loyalty programme.

  • Birthday Email: Birthday email should be sent to both Loyalty and non Loyalty customer from Airship. However, loyalty members should receive a more exclusive offer, with the reward applied directly to their loyalty card. A dedicated email for loyalty customers should clearly highlight this enhanced benefit and guide them to their loyalty card for redemption—reinforcing the value of being part of the program.

  • Points Threshold TriggersSet up automated emails that trigger when customers reach specific points thresholds—especially when those points unlock rewards. These emails keep members informed and encourage continued engagement with the programme.

  • Segmented Campaigns

    All email campaigns should be sent from Airship, with tailored messaging for different audiences:

    • One version for loyalty members

    • Another for non-loyalty customers

  • Loyalty Sign-Up Promotion

    Target non-loyalty customers with campaigns that highlight the benefits of joining the loyalty programme. Use incentives, exclusive offers, or member-only perks to drive sign-ups.

  • Visit-Based Triggers

    When a loyalty card is scanned at the POS, it registers a visit in Airship. Use this data to trigger follow-up communications, such as thank-you messages, visit-based rewards, or re-engagement campaigns.

  • Reward Notifications

    When creating rewards within Loyalty, it's important to notify customers of the offer. Emails can be sent via Airship to inform them of the reward and encourage redemption.

  • Dynamic Fields & Balance Check Journey

    For emails sent to loyalty customers, include dynamic fields such as card number, points balance, and PIN. These emails should also guide customers to check their balance via the website or app, providing a seamless way to access their loyalty account and stay engaged.
