General Information

The following page provides general information on common actions and functions within the module that apply to all product types.

Layout

Product Modelling has 5 primary sections:

  1. Product List

  2. Search and Filter Options

  3. Actions to Add, Delete and Settings

  4. Product Header Details (differs by product type)

  5. Configuration Tabs (differs by product type)

Searching

Follow these options to search for products:

  • Enter the Search Term into the Find Items

    Search by:

    • Retail Name

    • Entity Code

  • The search will start automatically and go the first item that matches the search criteria

  • Click Next to go to the next product that matches the search term

  • Click Prev to go back to the last product

  • Select Mid-word Search to find anything that contains a the search term

    Example: Searching for 'Espresso' will return products that begin with that word. To find items like 'Dble Espresso', search using a mid-word
  • The function keyboard command F3 can be used to proceed to find the next item

The product list is displayed by default with Retail Name | Type | Description, this can be changed to change the description to Entity Code.

  • Right Click on the product list

  • Select Show Entity Code

  • This list will now display the Entity Code

Filters

Filters provide a useful way to manage selected products without having to have the full list displayed.

Zonal always recommends applying filters when working with products

There are 7 filter types that can be applied:

  • Text Filters

  • Product Structure

  • Product Setup

  • Product Tags

  • Barcode Filters

  • Supplier Filters

  • Entity Code

Follow these options to filter products:

  • Click Set Filter

    • Text Filters

      • Search for Text – enter the search term to be matched against the fields selected under 'Search In'

      • Search for Blank Values – enables a search to return results where the selected 'Search In' fields contain no values

      • Search In

        • Product Name | Product Description | B2B Name | Invoice Name | Import / Export Ref

      • Mid-word search

    • Product Structure

      • Select from - Division | Sub Division | Super Category | Category | Subcategory

    • Product Setup

      • Select from - Product Type | Print Stream | Course | Portions | Tax Rules | Discontinued

    • Product Tags

      • Select from - Tag Groups | Tags

    • Barcodes

      • Filter on Barcode - enter the barcode number to search

      • Search for Products with No Barcode - enables a search to return results where no barcodes are added

      • Search for Custom Priced Barcode - enables a search to return custom priced barcodes

    • Supplier Filters

      • Supplier Ref Includes - enables a search to return results of a selected reference

      • Search for Blank Values - enables a search to return results where no references are added

      • Supplier - enables a search to return products for a selected supplier

    • Entity Code

      • Entity Code - enables a search to return result of selected entity code

  • Click OK to set apply the filters

Multiple filters can be selected from the filters sections

Selected filters will be displayed in the 'Active Filters' section

Click Clear Filters to remove all filters

Deselect the check box 'Filtered' to remove the current filter list whilst still retaining the set filters

Settings

The following settings can be changed to reflect the behaviour of Product Modelling:

Click Settings

  • Budgeted Cost Price for Choices - when choices are created the cost can be calculated by the selected cost calculation type

    • Average Item Cost | Minimum Item Cost | Maximum Item Cost

  • Allow Setting of Band A price on Portions Tab - when this is enabled a price can be entered per portion which will be reflected the price matrix in band A only

  • Show First 'Quantity of Portions - each Standard Line and Recipe can have up to 19 additional portions configured, set this field to 20 to see all portions

  • Show B2B Name on Suppliers Tab - an additional field which can be used in conjunction with Acquire to have an alternative product name for ordering purposes

Linked products enables a check of the relationship between the selected product and other products throughout Product Modelling

  • Click Linked Products

  • Any linked products will be displayed and can be copied to an external notepad / word document
