Instructions

Instructions are typically used to assist preparation stations, such as the bar or kitchen, with guidance on how to make a particular item. Instructions contain only basic information and do not include any sales, stock, pricing, or purchasing attributes.

Instructions can be either:

  • Added to a Choice

    • Typically used where preparation information is required in prepare the item

  • Add to a Theme Panel / Shared Panel Design

    • Typically used for food and drink modifier screens

Examples
  • Food: Medium | Well Done | On the Side | Plain | No Sauce

  • Drinks: No Ice | Slice of Lemon | Dirty | Jug Water

Adding Instructions

Zonal recommends using an existing similar product as a 'template', find an existing instruction from the product list using search or product type filters

Follow these steps to add an instruction:

  1. With an existing instruction selected click New

    Using the New option will automatically add the subcategory, print stream, course and choice behaviour settings
  2. Enter the following details, Retail Name | Description (optional)

  3. Check the following attributes are set as required

    • Subcategory

    • Print Stream

    • Course

    • Behaviour when part of a choice

    • Follow Parent Course

  4. If required | click Tags | set any tags as needed (optional)

  5. To continue, add the next instruction or select another product type, to finish, click Close

Deleting Instructions

Follow these steps to delete instructions:

  1. Select the instruction from the list

  2. Click Delete

  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking Yes

    If the instruction is associated to any other product type a warning will be shown that advises the instruction will be removed from other effected lines

    Click Yes or No to confirm as required

Additional Information

When using iOrder Platform:

  • Instructions cannot be added to a menus
