Units

Units are used in the creation of products to record the correct unit of measure for product purchase information, ingredient consumption and stock reconciliation.

The three most common unit types are:

  • Weight

  • Volume

  • Items

Examples
  • Weight: 10kg - 5g - 100g - 10oz

  • Volume: 70cl - 10 Litre - 25ml - 12 fl-oz

  • Item: Each - 24 Pack - 100 Items

Navigate to Base Data → Product Configuration → Units

Adding New Units

Follow these steps to add a new units:

  1. Click Add

  2. Select the required Unit Type

    The most common used types are weight, volume and item
  3. Click Next

  4. Enter the Unit Name and Unit Description (optional)

  5. Enter the required Amount based on the unit type selected

    Units default to the following amounts:

    • Weight - grams

    • Volume - mls

    • Item - items

    Setting the correct unit is important as it will effect any stock reduction and stock audits
  6. Click Finish

    An alternative option to add units is to right click on the unit type displayed in the tree and click add

Unit Values

When creating units it is important to set the correct base unit information, the following values give examples of type units of measure used.

Editing Units

Follow these steps to edit units:

  1. Select the required Unit

  2. Update any fields as required

  3. Click Save
