TID Swap Guide

When a new PED arrives, please follow the step by step guide below to remap an old PED's Terminal ID (TID).

Step 1 of 5

Before You Start

Before starting the setup and installation the following will be required

  • The site must be on ZCPS Dojo 1.3.8.

  • New Dojo PED delivered with a note of its new terminal ID. This is delivered as part of the existing swap-out process.

  • Old PED is turned off.

  • Internet Connectivity.

  • New Terminal ID configured for the site at Dojo.

Step 2 of

Process

  1. Turn on the new pin entry device (PED) on and connect it to the wifi.

  2. Log into the POS and create a new transaction.

  3. Add an item to the basket. It's advised doing this with a low value item, though no transaction will be processed.

  4. Select card payment and select the old PIN pad POS button to re-map.

  5. Enter the amount.

  6. The transaction will show as Declined.

  7. Attempt steps 4 to 6 three times within one minute. This is the trigger for mapping the new PED.

  8. A modal will appear that notifies the user that the PEDs assigned TID is not available. Click ‘Yes’.

  9. Select the terminal ID that corresponds to the one that was received with the PED.

  10. Cancel the transaction, avoiding an unnecessary charge.

  11. Attempt a second payment, selecting the same POS button.

  12. The TID selection screen will show again, select the corresponding TID again.

  13. At this point the TID is mapped, so cancel the sale again.

  14. The TID is now swapped, and the PED can be used operationally.
