What's New

The following new features have been introduced in this version of FreedomPay.

Feature Description
Dynamic Currency Conversion — Mandatory Receipt Printing

This release ensures that a receipt will always be printed automatically whenever a DCC transaction is taken in Pay at Table, Pay at Counter, and push-to-PED, regardless of the sites print configuration. When a guest chooses to pay in their home currency using Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), a receipt must always be provided — this is a compliance requirement from the card scheme. Previously, printing followed the venue's general receipt print settings, which meant a DCC receipt could be suppressed if the site had receipts turned off.

Premier Inn Atos Card Scheme Renamed for Reporting

For customers who accept Premier Inn Atos PRIVATE label cards, transactions made with these cards were previously recorded under a generic internal code of PRVATE in reporting, making them difficult to identify. This release renames that card scheme to "Premier Inn" across both FCC and Antonio and adds the Atos card range to the correct scheme definitions.

Active Roaming Enabled Automatically During Install and Upgrade

ZCPS will now automatically enable Active Roaming as part of every install and upgrade. Active Roaming allows a payment terminal to maintain its network connection when moving between different network access points or segments. Without it, terminals in venues with segmented networks can lose their connection to the ZCPS server mid-session. FreedomPay disables this by default, and until now it had to be manually enabled after each ZCPS install or upgrade, creating a risk of it being overlooked. This ensures terminals are correctly configured from the outset, with no post-installation step required.

Automatic Pick-Up of Aztec Configuration Changes on Send to POS

Previously, when a manager changed a payment setting (such as tip percentages) in Aztec and do a Send to POS, ZCPS would not pick up those changes without a service restart, causing unnecessary disruption. From this release, when a Send to POS is done, ZCPS will automatically detect any relevant payment configuration changes, sync them to the ZCPS, and restart only the required Freedompay services.

Supplemental PAL Packages Updated to Latest Versions

The Pennies charity round-up package has been updated for both FCC and Antonio, and the tip and charity form package has been updated for Antonio. No change to behaviour is expected for end users.

Firmware Update — Ingenico UPP 7.8x.75

This release includes an update to the Ingenico terminal firmware to UPP 7.8x.75. This version includes a fix for Wi-Fi retransmissions causing terminals to freeze for several minutes — the root cause of terminals appearing unresponsive or offline mid-service — and a further fix for Move/5000 terminals switching between Wi-Fi access points too frequently, causing repeated drops in connectivity. Support is also included for Master Card Merchant Category Code.
