Restrictions

Restrictions enable additional rules to be applied which control the visibility of either of menus or specific items contained within a menu so that you sell the right items at the right time in the right sites and sales areas.

Examples
  • My site opens at 07:00, I have a drinks menu but I need to restrict alcoholic items from being available between 07:00 and 09:00 as alcohol is only sold after 09:00

  • My menu contains a subcategory of lunch items, we only open for lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - we want to add a restriction to prevent those lunch items being sold Monday to Thursday

  • In my Scotland sites I sell Irn-Bru but in my England sites we don't sell this, I want to apply a product restriction to remove them from the menu for England locations

Navigate to Menu Manager

Adding Restrictions

Follow these steps to add restrictions:

  1. Click Configure | select Restrictions, the restrictions list will be displayed

  2. Click Create New Availability Restriction

  3. Click Edit Restriction tab

  4. Enter the Restriction Name

  5. Expand 'Restriction Type' and set one required type

    • Menu Availability - the ability to order from the menu will be restricted | select a menu either by

      • Menu Category

        When selecting a category any applicable menu will automatically be selected
      • Actual Menu

    • Menu Visibility - the ability to view the menu will be restricted | select a menu either by

      • Menu Category

        When selecting a category any applicable menu will automatically be selected
      • Actual Menu

    • Products - selected items can be set as restricted

      • Enter search term, Name or Entity Code

      • Drag the item from the search results to Restricted Products List

    • Product Category

      • Select the required categories

        Any products associated within the structure selected will be restricted
    • Product Subcategory

      • Select the required subcategories

        Any products associated within the structure will be restricted
  6. Expand 'Choose which sites this applies to' and select either a Site Group or click the Sites tab and select individual Sites and Sales Areas applicable for the restriction

  7. Expand 'Choose the time frame and set as required

    • Start Time

    • End Time

  8. Expand 'How often does this occur' and set as required

    • Daily

      • Every X Days or

      • Every Week Day

    • Weekly

      • Recur Every X Weeks on

        • Select Days of Week (Monday to Sunday)

    • Monthly

      • Day X of every X Months or

      • The 'First / Second / Third / Fourth / Last'

        • 'Day / Week Day / Weekend Day / Monday to Sunday'

        • of Every X Months

    • Yearly

      • On 'January - December'

        • Month Date

  9. Expand 'Dates the restriction is in effect' and set as required

    • Start Date

    • End Date

  10. Click Save Changes

Restrictions List

The restrictions list enables addition actions to be completed.

Editing Restrictions

Follow these steps to edit restrictions:

  1. Click Configure | select Restrictions, the restrictions list will be displayed

  2. Enter a search term, Name | click Search

  3. Click Edit for the required restriction

  4. Update the restriction as required

  5. Click Save Changes

Deleting Restrictions

Follow these steps to delete restrictions:

  1. Click Configure | select Restrictions, the restrictions list will be displayed

  2. Enter a search term, Name | click Search

  3. Click Delete

  4. Confirm OK to delete the restriction
