Add Automatic Charity Donations to Table Accounts

Many hospitality businesses choose to partner with a charity or community organisation by offering guests the option to add a small donation to their bill. To support this initiative, the point of sale can be configured to automatically include the optional donation whenever a new table account is opened. This ensures consistency across the site and removes the need for team members to manually remember to apply it during service.

The donation appears clearly on the bill, allowing guests full visibility and choice. If a guest prefers not to contribute, the amount can be easily removed using the standard correction methods within the system.

Setup

Navigate to Product Modelling
  • Add a new recipe for the contribution product

    Zonal recommends ensuring that this is assigned to a separate subcategory belonging to a division for contributions / donations etc, click here for more information on managing the product structure
  • Select the Other tab and enable Is Donation

  • Take a note of the Entity Code for this product

Navigate to Standard Pricing → Price Matrix
  • Set the required price for the contribution product

    If a new subcategory was created ensure that the sales area banding assignment is completed
Let your Zonal Account Representative know you want to use Auto Contribution and provide them with the Entity Code, they will update your database for the product to be automatically added
