Aztec Settings

For iOrder Platform to configure service charge Aztec must be setup in advance with the required rules and settings.

Adding Service Charges

Navigate to Finance | Configuration | Exclusive Tax Rules

Follow these steps to add a new service charge rule:

  1. Click Add

  2. Enter the following details, Tax Rule Name | Rate (%) | set to Apples to Sold Goods Only

  3. Select the check box for Is Service Charge

  4. Select a Hotel Division from the drop (optional)

Hotel divisions are only required there is an integration to a hotel property management system or bill grouping by hotel division is used
  5. Set any required Button Text

  6. Click Save

Do not configure the service charge with these settings as they are not compatible with iOrder Platform:

  • Open Service Charge - only fixed values are supported

  • Apply By Default - if this is enabled iOrder is not able to remove charges from order baskets

This estate level service charge rule can also be overridden at Site level in Base Data and Order Destination Level in Aztec Product Modelling. If an Aztec service charge tax rule is added to an iOrder service charge rule and an override exists then when the service charge will be calculated based on the override at a given site/order destination. It is recommended that no overrides are set up so that the % value and service charge behaviour represents what has been configured in iOrder

In Theme Modelling | Site Setup | Miscellaneous, service charge can be configured to trigger for a specific cover count threshold. This should not be set for online ordering as iOrder does not support cover count logic

Other Settings

Navigate to Theme Modelling | Estate Setup | Config Sets

Configure config sets as required to meet the needs of the organisation.

Zonal recommends having a config set for virtual terminals which supports ordering through iOrder Platform, especially if settings onsite vs online are different
It is important that when reviewing the online ordering config set that the service charge options which mean a service charge will be set to auto apply are not set as true. Otherwise iOrder will be unable to remove the service charge from the basket
